Member Update 4/15/2020

Covid-19

We hope this letter finds you and your families well and that you’re staying safe given the COVID-19 pandemic.  You may be aware that in alignment with and in support of Governor Sununu’s “Stay at Home” Order for the State of NH, Quayside Yacht Club is asking that all members, renters, and guest please refrain from coming to the Club.  The Clubhouse will remain closed until further notice.  The BOD takes this situation very seriously and has enacted these measures in the best interests and safety of our Members.  Please continue to follow our website for periodic updates.

The following QYC restrictions are in place effective immediately:

  • We request that no Members, Renters, Guests enter Club property.
  • No boat service providers are allowed on the property.
  • We request that no boats/vessels be in the marina or at any docking facilities.
  • No use of any of the common areas of the Club.
  • No congregating or loitering are allowed on the property.
  • The Clubhouse and the area under the Clubhouse roof are closed.

For those who may live out of the area, please be aware that the NH Governor has issued Executive Order 2020-04 and numerous Emergency Orders restricting the movement and operation of people and businesses.  This includes, but isn’t limited to, Emergency Orders 2, 16, 17, 26, & 27 (Visit https://www.nh.gov/covid19/ for the latest information.)

  • Emergency Order #2 – Restriction of food and beverage sales
  • Emergency Order #16 – Temporary prohibition on gatherings of 10 or more
  • Emergency Order #17 – Closure of non-essential business and Requiring Granite Staters to stay at home
  • Exhibit A to Emergency Order #17 – List of essential services and support
  • Emergency Order #26 – Extension of orders #2, 6, and 16
  • Emergency Order #27 – Restriction of hotels and other lodging providers

In addition, the Moultonborough Select Board provided a message to all full and part time residents and guests of Moultonborough describing the limited healthcare and emergency resources the area has available to support the crisis.  They also provide the following recommendations:

“Please limit all social contact outside of your home and if contact is necessary please observe the social distancing recommendation of at least 6’. We also recommend that folks relocating for a long stay self-quarantine for 14 days in the event you may have contracted the disease back home or you are a carrier.”

Before visiting the Lakes Region, we would like you to consider your potential impact on the limited healthcare and emergency resources of that area and their limited access to healthcare.

The board is following the Governor’s lead on access to the Club in the interest of the health & safety of our Members, Renters and their Guests.  We continue to monitor the situation on a regular basis will reevaluate the restrictions as the situation changes.  We understand this is a lot to ask of the Membership.  We hope this COVID-19 pandemic will be behind us soon and we can get back to enjoying our Club, Boating and the Lake. We look forward to welcoming you all back for the 2020 boating season when it is safe to do so.

Members of the Board of Directors, along with our related contractors, will be periodically onsite during this time to perform maintenance on the docks damaged over the past year.  As in years past, we will be reaching out for volunteers to fully open the club and clubhouse once the Governor’s “Stay at Home” Order is lifted.

Dues and fees

Many have asked about paying dues.  As discussed at the 2019 Annual Meeting, we have shifted our fiscal year to begin May 1st to align with the laws regarding budgets and member meetings.  Therefore, your invoice is attached and due May 30, 2020.  The annual amount is $550.00.  You have this ability to make a payment by mailing the stub with your check or paying online.  If you want to pay online, you don’t need to mail anything back, just visit the following page:  https://quaysideyachtclub.com/events/2020-member-fees/

Like previous years, we are including the ability to pay any optional usage fees and bathroom keys with your dues.  This process is optional, and you can still pay for fees and keys at the clubhouse at the beginning of the season.

If you have been financially impacted by COVID-19, please reach out to a Member of the Board of Directors for payment options.

Insurance

This is also a reminder that all owners and their renters are required to have fire, casualty and liability insurance(for boats and property) at all times (Bylaw 9-500).  We do not need a copy, but you are required to have and maintain insurance coverage.

By-law update

This is also a reminder to please review and return the by-law modification ballot.  The objective of the by-law modification is to become compliant with the laws enacted over the last 3 decades that have improved member rights.
